Q. What will it cost to restore my classic Mercedes roadster?

You will need decide what level of restoration you are considering, because there is a huge difference between an acceptable restoration and "concourse" where every detail must be considered. Bring us the vehicle and we will discuss the options, so you can decide what suits your needs and budget.

Q. Why do you propose to use Glassurit paints, when my E-type was finished with British paint?

A. "Paint" is a misleading terms because we actually use a system involving several stages, where every componet must be chemically compatible. The Glassurit system is acknowledged to be one of the most reliable professional systems available and we will have no difficulty matching the original colour and finish of your vehicle.

 
Q. If I send you a photograph, can you give me an approximate price for a respray? A. You must bring the vehicle to us, so we can inspect its condition and assess the cost of any essential repairs needed prior to painting.
Q. Do you restore only vehicle exteriors?

A. VCDC can restore all of your vehicle, using qualified tradespersons for each part of the project. For example, we can supply and install the finest leather interiors, burl timber, polished metals or any other materials you desire.


Q. My Mercedes has been badly damaged and the insurance company may write it off. What do you advise?

 

A. Of course, the insurer will have the final say, but please allow us to inspect the vehicle. If we believe it is viable, you will be pleasantly surprised at the result of our professional work and doubt anyone will ever know it was smashed


Q. I have a lot of rust in some areas. Is it possible to fix thsi?

A. This can be difficult and expensive process, depending on the location of the problem, but as shown in this example, we certainly have had much success.
